Boxers, 2009

After the series “workers” I leave temporarily the world of work and begin a “sports” series featuring the combat sports of boxing and rugby. In keeping with my “Before/After” theme, one portrait is taken before the fight and the second one after. The apparent transformations on the competitor take place in a rather short time. The image resulting from this experience testifies to the physical and moral commitment of the boxer. Each fight is represented by the traces it leaves, visible in the space of these two photographs.
