Tina Merandon
biography
French photographer, born in 1963, based in Montreuil (France).
Tina Mérandon explores relationships, exchanges and confrontations, a recurring theme that takes the form of improvised choreography.
In perpetual plastic research, she works on color and body language towards abstract or graphic forms. Everything is linked to the body, the skin, to gestures whether animal or human. The theme of the animal becomes essential but always linked to man, the relationship forming the central subject. Her activity now alternates between residencies, commissions, carte blanche, workshops with different audiences. She was selected by the French Institute of Vietnam for the Villa Saigon 2025. Tina Merandon is a professor, lecturer at the Sorbonne Paris1, photography option.
Nominated for the Kodak Prize for Photographic Criticism in 1998, she won the 2003 Young Creation Prize and the Roger Pic Special Mention in 2012. Her works are featured in public collections such as the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the collections of the Musée Nicéphore Niepce, as well as private collections such as the Neuflize OBC bank, which acquired two works for its collection in 2024. She published her book Tisser sa toile with Loco publishing in 2021, she is a finalist for the 2022 Nadar Prize. She is distributed by Agence VU.
