Denis Dailleux — Orient in rhapsody
Hôtel Gabriel – Aile Est, Enclos du Port, 56100 Lorient
From March 8 until May 19 2024
Opening March 7th
5p.m. until 7 p.m.
Whispers of Asia brush against those of Egypt. A rhapsody of the Orient takes us from the warm ambience of Cairo to the fragrance of Calcutta’s flower market.
Denis Dailleux, like a rhapsode, sings of Cairo and Calcutta: the streets, the markets, the working-class neighborhoods…
Three series are presented.
Egypte recounts his love for this country, and Cairo in particular, his insatiable fascination for this unique place, its atmosphere, its magical lights and an infinite tenderness for its inhabitants.
With Mother and Son , he takes us into the intimacy of families whose absolute love for their mother by body-built sons resonates like an ode, with modesty and delicacy.
Mullick Gat, Calcutta’s flower market: this calm, shimmering setting seems to escape the urban frenzy.
Denis Dailleux weaves a portrait of India between colors, smells and flowers.
From the fragility of life and plants, he extracts a singular essence.
This exhibition has been produced with the support of Fragonard Parfumeur.
