Today, the old town is in ruins, and the city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In recent years, the mosque and some houses have been restored. I asked for her hand to his parents, but they refused because I was poor. So I get back to Moroni to male money, and when I had enough I came back to Anjouan to pay the dowry, and they accepted. Charfia too, because she loved me too. We get maried and I moved in Anjouan, because life in Moroni is too expensive. Here, I am a goat farmer and a grower. I have no regret about quitting my job, because I am very happy with Charfia ! We have a one year old child. Charfia take care of him at home. She never studied, so she doesn't go to school."

I get pregnant and the baby died 10 days after I gave birth, I don't know. The same year, I get pregnant again and I gave birth to my older child. Six months after, my husband left us and I found another man. We get married, had a child, but 3 months after giving birth he starts beating me and I chased him. After that, I left to Moroni and I get pregnant from another man. Our family didn't want us to get married, so I came back to Mohéli with my three children and my second jusband, the one who were beating me, asked me to forgive him. I accepted that he came back with me, but it start to beat me again. I have, until today, scares that won't go away. I left him for good. After that, I met my third husband and we had three children. I am pregnant of the fourth. But when I was in the third month of pregnancy, he treated me wrong and left me. I will gave birth in a few day, and I don't know what to do: I don't have a job, nobody helps me, I feel lost. My kids are going to school, but I am struggling to pay. I would like to never maried a man again, but I am asking myself how I will make it through."

Niger, Agadez, 4 October 2015Agadez is a commercial and migratory crossing in Sahel. Thousands of migrants mainly coming from Western Africa pass through Agadez each month, on the way to Algeria or Libya with the aim of reaching Europe.During a metting of the Touareg community of Agadez, men gathered to listen to the official speeches.
