A Boat on the Marne River, 2009
“Gérard Rondeau is a lover of the Marne. When he mentions it, the words clash with enthusiasm.
So much so that he would almost apologize. He is bubbling. And for good reason, it is a story that lasts. For almost 4 years. On the way, a local historian, a great architect, Pierre Buraglio, the painter, an academician, theater people, residents, fishermen, lock keepers, agriculture and environment specialists lend themselves to the game of maintenance.
We all remember a river… almost all of us. Maybe not those who live by the seaside. They remember the sea. But there is water. I discovered people who wanted to tell me about the river, to defend it. I have met some really enthusiastic people.”
