Not long before the spring of 2021, Gert Jochems had moved to the Flemish countryside after living in a city for 18 years. During that period, all Belgians were obliged to stay at home due to Covid. Only essential trips were allowed and these could not be further than five kilometers from home.
Just then, a fruit tree was in full blossom in the meadow next to his house. He thought it would be worth taking a photo of that tree.
The day after, in very different weather, the tree looked very different.
What started as a simple photo without intention has now become a series of about a hundred photos, focusing on the illimited variation offered by the few variables in the motif.
