Twins, 1996
Remus and Romulus, Castor and Pollux, twins are recurring characters in mythology and continue to fascinate the “singular” today. They pose a double question about identity, and although each is half of the other, they evoke the experience of the multiple. Coming into the world together and similar, they grow up in the same environment, often have the same education, only the existential time will separate them.
Here, each one is photographed at home by appointment. The siblings who live together are gathered on the same picture, the others are presented in a diptych.
Series realized in 1995 and 1996, in Brittany & Occitania (France).
