In march for Behring, 1993
Françoise Huguier brings back to us from the Far North her photographs and her travel notes from Siberia. Naked landscapes, snow and ice, inhabited landscapes, industries workshops or fishing ports, small town, huts, tents, igloos, sleeping gulags, cemeteries, reindeers, walruses, whales, polar bears. Colors, smells. And faces, lives… Nenets, Tatars, Dolgans, Nganassans, Inuits, Buryats, Russians, Armenians, Lithuanians… Françoise Huguier had given herself six months to approach the mythical confines of her childhood geographies and adult dreams.
