Double I, 2003
Many times, I have been faced with people whose portraits I have taken and whom, out of context, I did not recognize. From this experience, I produced a series where, in search of duality, I captured two facets of the same individual. The first portrait is taken in a professional environment and the second is staged in a setting chosen by the model. About twenty representatives of different social categories (airplane pilot, craftsman, chairman of the board, lawyer, worker, teacher, cleaning lady, apprentice, artist…) lend themselves to this game. Presented together, the images of this diptych offer us a double view in this double I.
