Hunters, trappers and wolf hunters, 2015
Hunters, trappers and wolf hunters, in France, have, or give themselves, the mission of regulating wildlife.
After having essentially carried out experiments in the world of work and following the residency with the artothèque of Vitré within the slaughterhouse of the city, I direct my work on the relations that the man maintains with the wild or domestic animal.
In this series of portraits, each one poses with his prey or in the saddle for the hunters, in this natural theater that is the place of stalking.
In my quest, I discovered that there were different types of hunting (traditional hunting, shooting, hunting with hounds, flying hunting…) that there were registered trappers and that the wolf hunters still officiated. I am not more amateur than detractor of hunting, witness of my time I simply lead a new experiment by confronting me with a genre scene: the hunting portrait.
Series realized in 2014 and 2015, in France with the support of the National Center of Plastic Arts (Fund of help to the contemporary documentary photography) and of the association Cordae la Talvera
