Alianov, Word From a Russian
“Alianov is a 16 mm short film in black and white shot in fixed shots. Alianov is a man who lived on the streets of Geneva a few years ago. After having met him many times over several months, I proposed him to express himself, through a camera, on themes that were obvious at first sight: Life, death, justice, liberty, etc. A 25 min film, 11 questions of 2 to 3 minutes each. For each question, Alianov expressed himself freely, without any intervention on my part. Shot in live action, there was no editing. The film was made over 11 days, not consecutive.”
