5 to 6 actions varying in space and time
5 to 6 actions varying in space and time – Denis Darzacq
Slide show made with the students of the First PCM of the Paul Bert High School, Maisons-Alfort (2012-2013)
“How to create a choreography in the public space? To do this, we drew inspiration from the working methods of the American conceptual artist Sol LeWitt, the composer Philip Glass in his opera “Einstein on the Beach” (1976), the director François Truffaut in his film “La Nuit Américaine” (1973) and the research of the French artist Pierre Bismuth in his book “Alternance d’éclaircies et de passages nuageux l’après-midi” (1999). High school students have carried out mini-actions that, in space and time, create infinite variations on what seems at first glance to be a simple street scene. »

This slide show was produced as part of the “Mon Œil!”.
In collaboration with the teaching team and on school time, four discovery and reflection workshops allow high school students to question the challenges of creating, distributing and receiving still and moving images around an annual theme, “Image and public spaces” in 2012-2013. As the last step in the programme, the research and creation workshop invites young people to participate collectively in the design and production of a documentary project with a guest artist.
