A poetic, non-dualistic approach.
We can approach this dimension of the invisible in a poetic way, seeing it as an invitation to travel and curiosity, and not so much seeking to objectify representations and stories as to wonder what they say about us and our sensibility, our understanding of life.
This is what I propose to do, by visually exploring various places, people and objects known as being the scene of apparitions, magical charges or supernatural phenomena. Initially using the sensitivity of silver film, I also make my own various tools such as digital film and sound recordings in an attempt to capture atmospheres and sensations. As in my other projects[1], my approach is open, questioning and subjective, seeking out the viewer’s sensitivity and intimate questions.
This project is thus an open path, where the photographer accepts to be guided from place to place and person to person, in a mysterious territory where the unexpected will be the first guest. Long-exposure shots of “charged” places, portraits of people endowed with divination or mediumnity, recordings of sound atmospheres, filmed sequences of unusual places: between capturing and creating, it’s all about suggesting a hidden world as much as taking the risk of confronting uncomfortable, even disturbing, encounters.
