As part of the Et nos morts exhibition, La Maison Robert Doisneau is bringing together the work of several photographers.
It is in this context that an extract from the Levées de corps series will be presented. This is a photographic work produced in Geneva. There’s no need to travel to a war-torn country or a poor region of the world to witness death at its most cruel. Violent, sad, incongruous, lonely, expected or forgotten deaths are also part of everyday reality in Geneva. There is no overhanging or morbid intention in these 2 years of dead body surveys. The gaze is intended to be frontal and obstinate: it shows death and respects it in its way of occupying space, without touching its staging, but by slightly modifying the light it has chosen for itself.
