Galerie VU’ is devoting a major exhibition to the recent work of Nolwenn Brod, bringing together three of her series, Le Temps de l’Immaturité, Les Dahlias and Les Hautes Solitudes.

The exhibition is an occasion to bring her different series into dialogue with each other, and to demonstrate the connections between them, as much in her approach as in her plastic and sensitive work.

Nolwenn Brod explores people, intimate relationships and the territories in between. She investigates their tensions and tiny changes, their emotional, carnal and spiritual states and their ambivalences. With great finesse and a delicate approach, she apprehends the other and the world without any predatory relationship in the photographic act. She takes them in and embraces them, brushing against them with acuity, revealing them too, in a form of poetic unfolding. While her images are highly sensual, almost carnal, they are not without a spiritual dimension. For it is often in the coincidence of opposites that her work reaches its full potential. In short, her photographic language is built on the mode of oxymoron. Her photographs arouse fascination through the simultaneous emergence of the carnal, the sensitive and the sensible.
