Denis Dailleux — Tante Juliette
Exhibition from July 12 to 21, 2024
Festival Photo de Brioude
Chapelle de la Visitation, Place de la Visitation, 43100 Brioude, France
In Denis Dailleux’s childhood village, in the Anjou region of France, lived a woman of character, a veritable character in a novel: Juliette, his great-aunt, who died in 2017 at the age of 100.
Between the photographer and his model, between the old woman and the young man, a unique complicity established for over 15 years a serious and funny game, a mixture of seduction, harshness and malice. Like a model, Juliette ac-cepts Denis’ stagings, which take advantage of the farm’s décor, playing with objects and plants.
As the years go by, the photographs become more daring, revealing an unexpected personality that seems to blos-som under the lens.
