JR has already published four books with Alternatives, including 28 mm – Portraits of a Generation, Face2Face and Women are heroes. His concept: to produce, with a 28-millimeter lens, portraits of “ordinary people” and to display them on the street. First in Seine-Saint-Denis, a year after the riots; then in Israel and Palestine where he “captured” the portraits of people exercising the same profession; Finally, in the third opus, Kenyan, Brazilian, Indian and Cambodian women were in the spotlight. The first two titles have not been available for a long time. Hence the idea of making a sort of “compilation” of the three titles, a best of the 28 mm project, retracing his work from 2004 to 2010, but with a completely original model, entirely in color, lots of new photos and “exhibitions” sections at the end of each of the three chapters.
