Tu es une Merveille (collections espagnole, belge et française), 2015
« Magali Lambert is similar to us, except that she plunders with her eyes open. She is a dream worker who operates in broad daylight, an inventor of dreaming exiled in consciousness. She sifts through garage sales, markets, streets, forgotten drawers, keeps what we have not retained, what life has abandoned but that time has preserved, what could have been thrown away for good but seems to have been saved from destruction by its very insignificance. From this raw material, from these poor, obsolete, broken or rococo elements, natural or artificial, she extracts creations, machines to set the imagination in motion, with a troubling familiarity, almost disturbing, so disturbing is it to find in real life what is only activated in sleep. »

Inspired by the Wonders of the Cabinets of Curiosities – precious objects born from the mixture of natural and artificial elements, presented since the end of the Renaissance in Europe – I bring together abandoned natural and industrial forms, seize them and slide them into the contemporary collective imagination. I find them, collect them, photograph them and then put them back into circulation in their country of origin. These meetings are precarious, unstable or perishable. Photography ensures its durability.
