Stay, after the earthquake (China), 2008
June the 30th , it had been 48 days since the fierce earthquake happened.
It is such a beautiful place here, the river flows and the high sierra goes. But now, it would be like such scene only if I cover part of my sight with a corn leave, cause I had to cover those broken houses, and collapsed factories lying on the ground. Or maybe it would be like such scene only if it was far before the earthquake, before people had built up these houses and factories.
The LONGMEN Mountain goes around here, it was one of the best place in Sichuan province from long ago. Can’t remember from when, people here became busy. They built up quite amount of chemical factories and cement plants. They dig the mountains for phosphorus ore. It is one of the 5 biggest phosphorus ore in China.
But now, these plants had been knocked down. Some of the factory buildings are lying there for 1 km long, the government said, there is no way to rebuild them.
So all they could do is staying here, to became a new scene of the landscape
These pictures are trying to reflect how these huge plants are related to the earth, they look so abrupt, no matter after or even before the earthquake.
