Seeuropeans: portraits of European people at the beach, 1994-2002
Undertaken the summer of 1994 throughout Europe, this photographic project of Albert and Verzone aims to create a large collection of portraits of European people on the beach.
At first sight, all beaches look the same, as well as all the people who populate them. Nevertheless, these portraits accentuate the many differences that exist between the people on European beaches, from North to South.
From all these pictures it becomes overwhelmingly evident that, on a beach, the particularities of our own societies can express themselves in a surprising way. In their current situation, however, it appears in a primordial way to the two photographers that they need to emphasize the multiplicity, the individuality, and the singularity of every one, in accordance with their own country.
