Secret Documents, 2008
Massimo Siragusa shows us here the places of the Italian national archives, from Rome to Florence, documenting their heterogeneous and historical architectures.
It is a journey back in time and in the history of knowledge that Siragusa gives us. Taking us from Rome to the Palace of Insula Domenicana and the National Library to Modena, where the photographer reveals the sumptuous rooms of the Estense University Library housing manuscripts and collections of periodicals.
Siragusa, as a painter would do, unveils to us masterpieces of these heritage places of knowledge, as illustrated by his photographs of the majestic Dante room in Florence or of the Malatestiana monastic library in Cesena.
