Roses, 2016
In Roses, Brooke DiDonato uses wax and skin as her main elements. The slow melting of wax on the models’ bodies explore the concepts of time, waiting and consummation in a poetic, visually-striking photo series.
“I like that flowers can symbolize an array of meanings- love, mourning, purity- the list goes on. They change with context and I like finding new ways to incorporate them. The series “Roses” was created over the course of a few weeks in my studio using some rose candles that I found on eBay. The series explores dissociation and adversity.” – Brooke DiDonato
