Portraits #1, 2014
“Magali Lambert sends me portraits she made without looking for any spectacular effect. Mouths and beaks. And first of all that of a very mere dog. It is during the development that this apparent normality… Wrapping the head of the dog appeared like a halo, the sketch of a duck perhaps. Is this his guardian angel caught in the pixels, for the first time fixed? Or is it a projection of the dog – his secret dream: something with feathers. Or a quack quack, simply.”
Excerpt from the text by the writer Arno Bertina, 2014
Within few weeks, several people brought me old stuffed animals in the studio. They didn’t want it anymore. They were very nicked.
I did portraits of the 11 object-animals. After the print of the portrait on glossy photographic paper, I have etched other hybrid forms on the dried emulsion.
