London riots, 2011
Since August, London has been undergoing the most violent riots of the past decades. Youth from the northeastern districts such as Tottenham and Hackney fight police forces in the UK capital. The shopkeepers and inhabitants fear the lootings.
The situation has been highly sensitive since the death of a young man killed by police forces in Tottenham.
On Clarence road and Mare Street, the population witnesses, powerless, the lootings of grocery shops and petrol stations.
Facing the incapacity of policemen to maintain security, the Turkish community of Kingsland Road decided to protect their shops themselves.
