The Missing, Uganda, 2015
Northern Uganda was ravaged by a devastating civil war for over twenty years (1987-2008). Hundreds of people were killed in the rebellion against the Ugandan government, and an estimated 400.000 people were left homeless.
Human Rights Watch says some 5,000 children have been abducted and forcibly enrolled by the LRA since June 2002. More than 20,000 children were used as child soldiers. Many of these children never came back home. Their families, abandoned in the grey zone of doubt for decades are still waiting for them to come back, against all odds.
