Heavy Metal Cruise, 2025
In the port of Miami, Florida, on January 31st, 3,000 passengers board the MS Independence of the Seas, bound for Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
A cruise is in the offing, but not just any cruise: welcome aboard the world’s largest heavy metal cruise!
Once international waters are reached, 60 concerts will take place on several stages over three days, for heavy metal fans from over 80 countries.
Andy Piller, former tour manager and producer of “70,000 Tons of Metal”, had the idea of organizing this festival in 2008. While cruises for other musical genres such as rock and jazz existed, he was the first to take on the notoriously passionate metal audience.
Since the first edition in 2010, the offer has only grown, the public has been asking for more, and most of the passengers return year after year.
