Femmes, après coup, 2010
The series “Femmes, après coup” is the result of the engaged work of Lâm Duc Hiên on violence against women, weather its are physicals, sexual, morals or socio-economics. The photographer went to meet abused and oppressed women in seven of the thirteen countries where Medecins du Monde operates, to collect their testimonies. From Guatemala to Moldova, passing by France, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Nicaragua or Pakistan, Lâm Duc Hiên send us back to their words, that, without pathos, bear witness of theirs experienced and reconstructions, driven with the desire to raise the taboo and show the importance of speaking out, of denouncing, in order to go beyond the status of victim.
