Doublemix, 2015
Double Mix is the collaboration between two French artists, the encounter between photography and ceramics, the encounter between the apparently banal universe of Denis Darzacq’s photos and the strange strength of Anna Iris Lünemann’s abstract ceramics.
This “double mix” therefore presents photos of subjects close to still life on which enamelled terracotta creations are grafted and integrated. Contrasting encounters that reveal very different worlds each time. An osmosis that seems random, but which works perfectly; the world of sculpture and photography go a long way together.
“ With this new work, following my usual formal way of doing, which joins in a same frame, two realities, I asked the earthenware artist Anna Lüneman to create a collective work.
It mixes photography and ceramic in a same and unique object, creating a real hybridation.
The trivial representation of the photographic image has a dialogue with the abstraction and no meaning sense of the ceramic.
This confrontation: pixels versus ceramic opens a very poetic, strange and weird space. A metaphoric way to express our times.”Denis Darzacq
