Immigration Chronicles, 1978
In 1976, Christian Carez and Michel Vanden Eeckhoudt began a report on immigration in Belgium, which after two years of work became Chroniques immigrées.
From the collieries of Roton to life in Brussels, via Seraing, Liège, and Tubize…the two photographers depicted the fragile daily life of immigrant workers. Sketches of cultures, family life and social struggles, the pictures are accompanied by enlightening testimonies on the living conditions of a not-so-bygone era.
