Blankenberge, 2004
Wedged between Knokke-le-Zoute and Ostende, the Blankenberge seaside resort emits a paradoxical poetry.
It is a building complex with a view on the North Sea. Buildings are so highthey almost prevent the sun from reaching the water.
In itself, this architectural originality is worth seeing.
But this is nothing compared to the absurd ingenuity Belgium people harness to distract themselves. After a short time in this cheerful station, we are torn between sympathy and concern for these people who don’t seem capable to consider a matter with seriousness.
