At home, 2020
All of my work is focused on things that are a priori uninteresting, ignored or forgotten. Found objects have an important place in it. The ones I picked up on the street, or in a garbage can. Other people’s ones.
I initiated the series At home from the first day of confinement because of the Covid 19 in France, in Paris. I shot one photograph each day of confinement. The 54 images in the series bear witness to this particular time, suspended indoors.
I am one of those privileged people who, thanks to the hard work of others who had to confront the virus every day, were able to stay locked up at home, sheltered, with all the modern comforts. And with their work tools at their fingertips.
Throughout this confinement, I applied myself to consider what surrounded me not as mere daily or decorative objects, but as symbols that carry elsewhere. These little everyday things, mine, became possible paths to escape.
As actors of the material life, they filled my daydreams at home.
