Act, 2009-2011
Act (2009-2011) is the result of a long work that Denis Darzacq shot, in France, in Great Britain and in States, with youg people and adults who are handiccaped.

Denis Darzac invited them to exit from medicalized places and doing some new gestures for them. If some of them are actors, sportsmen or dancers, all found with act and personal appropriateness of the common space, the way to affirm another themselves-image.
Portraits of the series Act refer to productions, which, introduced in 2003 by the series “Nu”, are based on the principle of the perturbation. With their state or their stance, bodies create a tension by their environment and disrupt the established order.
These productions don’t aim spectacular. They help a though about difficulties and stigmatisations of some groups, especially margined people.
Denis Darzacq underlines gravities, pressures and social contradictions. But he also invites with the break of seemingly meaningless gestures, to affirm an idendity, wich is more and more complex than ours, and to reconquer a form of liberty where it seems that it disappeared
