Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière Photography Prize
Académie des beaux-arts 2024

Guillaume Herbaut, winner of the 15th edition for his project Ukraine, les blessures invisibles.

The jury, meeting on 11 September 2024 at the Palais de l’Institut de France, examined the 18 entries shortlisted this year and named Guillaume Herbaut the winner of the 2024 edition for his project Ukraine, les blessures invisibles.

The aim of the Ukraine, les blessures invisibles project is to show the deep, invisible wounds that the Ukrainian population has suffered since the start of the war. It will be divided into three parts: the physical and mental suffering of soldiers returning from the front, the psychological damage to civilians and the moral impact on young people, a whole generation of whom have never known peace.

The prize is worth €30,000. Guillaume Herbaut’s project will be presented in the form of an exhibition at the Pavillon Comtesse de Caen of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in autumn 2026. The Prize and the exhibition are sponsored exclusively by the Fondation Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière.
