Vanessa Winship was in residence for ImageSingulières in Sète this winter. During the 11th edition of the festival of documentary photography, she displays the work she produced on this occasion.
Landscapes, people, a sensible black and white, without effects, subtle vibrating greys, the feeling that the spaces are inhabited, that they hold memories, traces, that the humans, without it being obvious, have inhabited and molded those spaces, this is what we feel in Vanessa Winship’s peculiar approach. As always, she doesn’t describe, but only expresses what she is feeling. She doesn’t try to demonstrate anything, but shares with us the emotions that grow inside her when she lets herself get carried away by the greatness of the spaces she crosses.
