Rip Hopkins made the series Another Country about the British in France, those who turned their backs on their homeland to settle in the Dordogne. He shows the life they have built for themselves here, the identity they have acquired and what they think of the country they left behind.

Portraits and stagings, original images, sometimes burlesque, sometimes poetic, disturbing or dreamlike, and always in complicity with his “models”. Having “abandoned” the UK himself, Rip Hopkins talks here about his roots and his passionate relationship with France.
