Pierre-Olivier Deschamps photographed in 2012, as part of an editorial campaign, thirty emblematic sites of industry in France ranging from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.
The exhibition is composed of about twenty images printed in large format, and makes discover an often unknown universe. Under the photographer’s gaze, these places devoted essentially to the production of goods, marked by the harshness of the working conditions, acquire an unexpected aesthetic value and reveal the architectural and patrimonial particularities of industrial sites and buildings. These constructions of monumental dimensions, often imposing and spectacular, give rise to an emotion that is mixed with that aroused by the imprint of a human adventure.
