As part of the collective exhibition “Other Landscapes” displayed by the Mediterranean Center of Photography in Bastia, Massimo Siragusa shows his series “Il Cretto Grande”.
This is the result of Siragusa’s research on the sculptor Burri’s Cretto. A close confrontation with the material in which the spatial references, depth and extent of the Cretto are lost. Siragusa examines the signs left by time, water and sun on the concrete, he seems to want to penetrate the material, restores roughness, cracks, gray and white variations, accidental aspects of plants.
