Ludovic Carème — Margens

At the beginning of December 2022, the Museu d’Arte do Rio inaugurated Margens, a new photographic exhibition by Ludovic Carème, a French photographer who has been living in Brazil for over 10 years, in partnership with the French Embassy in Brazil.

The 68 photos on display depict the harsh reality of the daily life of Brazilians: from rubber tappers in the Amazon, through the reality of a poor community in São Paulo on the banks of the Tietê River, to the hope in the eyes of young people in Rio de Janeiro on the Morro da Balbilônia.

Whether in Acre, in the middle of the Amazon jungle, or in a favela in São Paulo, Ludovic Carème’s photos interact and reveal stories.

Initiated by the French Embassy in Brazil, under the curatorship of Christian Caujolle, internationally renowned critic, the 68 photos will be donated to the MAR collection.
