Guillaume Zuili — Memory Lane
L’Œil Urbain
24 Rue Widmer – 91100 Corbeil-Essonnes (FRANCE)
From the 2d of October to the 29th of November 2020
“I started from the centre with the Mill as my cathedral, then I widened my circle to other buildings, which have left their mark on this city. Notably Hélio, which is a gigantic printing house, and the semi-freedom centre. ». In order to give an account of the city’s industrial heritage and architecture, Guillaume Zuili works exclusively with silver and uses a chemical process called The Lith to reveal his images. “The Lith has been an essential discovery for me and has allowed me to develop a writing style that is unique to me. It allows me to obtain powerful prints with incredibly dense blacks that are combined with creamy halftones and pale beiges in the highlights. »
The work from this residence will be returned to the Commanderie Saint-Jean during the entire festival period.
