Since 2001, the year of his first trip to Chernobyl, Guillaume Herbaut has travelled to Ukraine every year.
In 2004, he covered the Orange Revolution and the Donbass. Then came the return of the Cossacks, symbols of Ukrainian identity. In 2008, he reported on Crimea and its inter-community tensions. These series of reports were like a puzzle that prepared him to follow the Maidan Revolution and the war in 2014.
This autumn, the Maison de la Photographie is presenting his work on Maidan and this ongoing war of independence, which continues to bog down.
