Guillaume Herbaut — The Vth
Visa pour l’Image
City of Perpignan, 66 000, Perpignan (FRANCE)
From August 28 to September 26, 2021
In place for 62 years after its adoption by referendum in 1958, the Constitution of the Fifth French Republic and the institutions that guarantee its respect have long been associated with the image of an era of progress, of a strong and dynamic France. But today, the Fifth Republic seems to be on the verge of asphyxiation. The persistent economic crisis, the feeling of a two-tier society, the concentration of power, the terrorist attacks, the rise of populism, the yellow vests crisis are challenging its foundations. And the Covid-19 pandemic has only aggravated the ills of the Vth.
Through the jolts of political and social life, this work questions the representation of the French Republic today.
