Denis Darzacq —En pleine lumière
Exhibition from 14 February to 18 February 2025
Le Carreau du Temple
2 rue Perrée. 75003 PARIS
For the Everybody Festival, Denis Darzacq is exhibiting four series of photographs in which the body and gesture come face to face with the principle of disruption.
– Act 1 (2009-2011), the fruit of a long period of work in France, the UK and the USA, in contact with young people and adults with disabilities.
– La Chute (2006), in which Denis Darzacq asked hip-hop dancers to perform jumps set in a vernacular Paris.
– Hyper (2010) denounces consumerism and pits bodies in movement against the saturated, normative space of supermarkets.
– Reconstruire – MC93 (2022), a series of photos taken with students from the Bobigny theatre in the space of the Bobigny 2 shopping centre, which is in the process of being demolished.
To complete the photographic tour, a video installation RISE (2019) will be shown, consisting of the simultaneous projection of four films. Each film depicts a dancer constantly getting up from a fall. The four films, made separately, were shot with dancers from the Chinese company Ergao Dance Production in different locations in Guangzhou (Canton), China.
