To coincide with the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Centre Photographique d’Ile de France asked Denis Darzacq to take photographs of residents of Pontault-Combault who are active in sport. He asked them to use the
the formal vocabulary of their sport and create choreographed figures in the city.
For this new exhibition at Les Passerelles in Pontault-Combault, he is developing his visual approach and uses these portraits of sportsmen and women in the city to create montages with abstract abstract photographic elements from his current research.
Combining figurative and abstract elements in the same image has enabled him to create hybrid images, seeking a dynamic balance that expresses a shared form of vital energy.
