The works were produced in collaboration with GOOSSENS as part of the19M endowment for artistic crafts photography of the Picto Prize for Fashion Photography.
With this collaboration, Camille Brasselet aims to correlate the print of photography with the pewter of silversmithing, to create “body sculptures”. These hybrid creations celebrate the craftsman’s gesture, giving life to inert matter: rhinestones become pebbles in the rock, pewter wires unfurl like branches of wheat, and metal clings to the skin like a wet lock of hair after a bath. Goossens’ interventions and the sculptural, epidermal aspect of the photographic series thus become a form of ‘metamorphosis’ of the body into sculpture, of foam and bark.
