Opening weekend:
From June 7 to 9, 2024, in the presence of the photographers, with guided tours, screenings and debates.
At the invitation of the festival, Chemin creux is the result of Camille Brasselet’s residency in Houlgate.
“Based on the etymological translation of Houlgate as a “chemin creux”, I wanted to create an autofiction with a unique perspective on this seaside town in Normandy. Having grown up in this region, these landscapes remain a strong anchor for me. Through Houlgate’s iconic architecture, places take a strong place within the images. The winter setting, with its empty tourist areas, closed shutters and echoing silence, is an opportunity to show the other side of the picture. Houlgate reveals the ambiguity between reality and fiction, like a manufactured set. The “chemin creux” evokes the paradox of a wandering experience in which the character seeks to find his place: at once an alter ego blind to the knowledge of this place and a little girl seeking to retrace the traces of her past.”
