“To travel from North to South Africa is an idea that may not be original! Yet many explorers, travellers and before them traders have done it long before. Today these paths, which we would like to take freely and travel across this continent, do not exist!
Non-existent roads, in very poor condition or closed borders are the main causes. This state of affairs can be explained by the lack of political will on the part of African leaders, but also on the part of those who trade with Africa. Indeed, it is easy to imagine that if trade were not by sea or air, it would be a long time before magnificent roads would cross the continent from north to south and from east to west.
Yet Africans have a real need for these roads, because opening up Africa means above all allowing its inhabitants to move freely within their own space. »
