In February 1991, “I joined Odessa accompanied by Jean François Pahun, a journalist, to embark on the Kruzenstern. At that time the USSR was suffering economically and the food on board the ship was limited to meat and potatoes, no fruit, no dairy…! Direction Santa Cruz de Tenerife, one month on board, passing through the Black Sea, the Bosphorus, the Aegean Sea. On board the school ship, 80 cadets of the Soviet merchant marine and 70 crew members are photographed in their daily life”.
