OVNI
Through this series of images, Bertrand Desprez is thinking about man as “predator”, limitlessly altering both the outlines and the order of nature. Countless traces sketching out undefined new objects are then revealed, surprising forms of materiality and singular apparitions.
The imaginary world then wins out: does the gaze change without respite until it reaches new spaces with curious dimensions, visions or portrayals of the spirit? The lack of any geographical landmarks and human presence reinforces the feeling of strangeness and mystery.
Once again, these “aesthetic” accounts which are such a specific feature of Bertrand Desprez’s photography tell us about these intimate metamorphoses of nature, and lead us to question our own “journey on earth”.
