The JR project, of which Women are heroes is the third component – after 28 millimeters and Face2Face published by Alternatives – consists of producing, with a 28-millimeter lens, portraits of “ordinary people” and displaying them in the street. Here, Kenyan, Brazilian, Indian and Cambodian women are under the spotlight. They never make the headlines but are the real pillars of their society, despite daily wars or violence. An artistic practice as an element of discussion, to deal with current topics in an innovative, provocative and objective way. His work mixes art and action, talks about commitment, freedom, identity and limits.
