A Wonderful Kingdom, sponsored by the Antonio Pérez Foundation and published by Ediciones Anómalas, is the result of three years’ work (2022-2024) in the province and city of Cuenca, in an attempt to reconstruct an imaginary territory from the richness and variety of this province. In short, it’s a photographic journey, sentimental and slow, towards one of those wonderful realms that are always there, waiting for us, as the Portuguese writer Miguel Torga once taught us, speaking of his hometown Tras-os-Montes (with which Cuenca has many parallels):
“I’m going to tell you about a wonderful kingdom. Although many people say no, there always have been and always will be wonderful kingdoms in this world. What’s needed to see them is for the eyes not to lose their original virginity in the face of reality, and for the heart not to doubt”.

The results of this work are presented in an exhibition produced by the Antonio Pérez Foundation and in a book co-published by the Foundation and Ediciones Anómalas.
